Macaubas Pearl Anticato 12×24 Porcelain Tile Rectified
Understated and refined, the Macaubas Pearl Anticato 12×24 porcelain tile pairs a soft, neutral tone with an antiqued Anticato surface for subtle texture. The 12×24 format reduces grout lines for a cleaner look, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints across walls or floors.
Crafted in durable porcelain with a PEI 4 wear rating, this tile balances style and practicality for busy residential spaces and select light commercial areas. Frost resistance opens up exterior wall possibilities in freeze–thaw climates. Use it on its own for a quiet, elegant canvas or coordinate with other elements from the Macaubas collection to build layered detail.
Plan confidently with straightforward packaging and sizing; the rectified profile helps achieve a polished, uniform layout with professional results.

Installation Guide – Macaubas Pearl Anticato 12×24 Porcelain Tile Rectified
Important Advisory
Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.
Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances appropriate for 12×24 tile.
- Plan the layout by dry-laying tiles and centering the design to avoid small perimeter cuts.
- Blend tiles from multiple boxes to evenly distribute any shade or texture variation.
- Use spacers and a joint width suitable for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.
Step 2: Tile Installation
- Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and the tile’s size/finish.
- Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
- Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve proper bond; target coverage per industry guidelines for the application (e.g., 80–95%).
- Use a leveling system when helpful to minimize lippage with larger formats.
- Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or light traffic.
Step 3: Cutting
- Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade designed for porcelain.
- Mark cuts carefully and support the tile fully to reduce chipping.
- Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.
Step 4: Joint Filling
- Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer directions for mixing, application, and cure.
- Pack joints fully with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
- Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and changes of plane—do not grout these areas.
- Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer guidance.
Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner formulated for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
- Use entry mats and felt pads where appropriate to reduce tracked-in grit and potential scratching.
- Follow grout manufacturer maintenance recommendations; seal cementitious grout if advised.
