Installation Guide – Step by Step

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Strong and Smooth

• Ensure the substrate is structurally sound, dry, clean, and completely level.
• Use a self-leveling compound to fix dips or height variations—12″x24″ tiles require a very flat surface to prevent lippage.
• In wet areas such as showers or bathrooms, apply a waterproofing membrane before installing the stone.

Step 2: Layout Planning – Balance and Symmetry

• Mark accurate center lines and dry-lay several tiles to determine the optimal starting point.
• Blend tiles from multiple boxes to achieve consistent Lymra Light Cream color flow across the space.
• Maintain a grout joint width of 1/16″ to 1/8″ when working with straight-edge tiles for a precise, modern appearance.

Step 3: Mortar Application – Use White Thin-Set

Recommended Thin-Set Mortars:

• Mapei Ultraflex LFT White
• Laticrete 254 Platinum White
• Ardex X77 or X5 White

Instructions:

• Use a 1/2″ square-notched trowel to ensure proper mortar coverage.
• Back-butter each tile to achieve full adhesion and eliminate voids underneath the stone.
• Spread thin-set in manageable sections and avoid stepping on freshly installed tiles.

Step 4: Cutting & Fitting – Accurate and Clean

• Cut the tiles using a wet saw with a high-quality diamond blade suitable for limestone.
• Dry-fit each piece before installation to confirm alignment and spacing.
• Gently smooth exposed cut edges with a marble or diamond hand pad if required.

Step 5: Tile Setting – Flat, Level, and Aligned

• Begin at your layout lines and place each tile carefully into the thin-set.
• Use a leveling system to minimize lippage and maintain an even, flush surface across all tiles.
• Clean mortar residue from tile surfaces and joints before it hardens.
• Allow at least 24 hours of curing time before proceeding to grouting.

Step 6: Grouting & Sealing – Finish and Protect

• Pre-seal the limestone tiles with a penetrating sealer to prevent grout haze and staining.
• Use unsanded or fine-sanded grout for narrow joints and select a tone that complements the stone’s light cream color.
• Apply grout diagonally using a rubber float and clean promptly with a damp sponge.
• Once grout cures, apply a final coat of high-quality penetrating sealer for long-term protection.

Maintenance Tips – Long-Term Care

• Clean regularly using a pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaner—avoid acidic or bleach-based products.
• Re-seal every 6–12 months depending on usage, moisture, and traffic levels.
• Use area rugs and felt pads to protect against scratches or abrasion from furniture.
• Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining or absorption.
