Installation Guide – Step by Step

Step 1: Surface Preparation – Clean and Level Base

• Ensure the substrate is dry, stable, and free from dust, oil, or previous adhesives.
• Check levelness using a long straight edge; correct uneven areas with a self-leveling compound.
• In moisture-prone areas such as bathrooms or kitchens, apply a waterproofing membrane prior to tiling.

Step 2: Layout Planning – Natural Flow and Warm Tone Balance

• Mark reference lines with chalk to center your layout and achieve symmetrical alignment.
• Dry-lay several tiles to balance the warm beige tones and subtle veining of Vanilla Extra Marble.
• Use 1/16″–1/8″ spacers for precise grout lines. Straight edges emphasize uniform joints, so keep spacing consistent.

Step 3: Mortar Application – Use White Thin-Set Only

Recommended Mortars:

• Mapei Ultraflex LFT White
• Laticrete 254 Platinum White
• Ardex X77 White

Instructions:

• Use a 1/4″ or 3/8″ square-notched trowel depending on substrate condition.
• Back-butter each tile for 100% mortar coverage and maximum bond strength.
• Spread mortar over small areas to prevent surface drying before setting the tiles.

Step 4: Cutting & Fitting – Precision and Edge Finish

• Cut tiles using a wet saw with a diamond blade rated for marble to ensure smooth edges.
• Test-fit cut pieces before final installation, and polish exposed edges with a fine file if necessary.

Step 5: Tile Setting – Smooth and Level Finish

• Press tiles firmly into the mortar bed, keeping Straight edge alignment throughout the layout.
• Tap gently with a rubber mallet to adjust level and avoid lippage.
• Wipe off excess thin-set immediately, particularly on honed surfaces to prevent staining.
• Allow mortar to cure for at least 24 hours before grouting.

Step 6: Grouting & Sealing – Long-Term Protection

• Pre-seal the tiles with a premium penetrating sealer before applying grout to reduce absorption.
• Use non-sanded grout to prevent scratching the honed marble surface and ensure smooth joints.
• Apply grout diagonally across joints using a rubber float, and wipe the surface with a damp sponge promptly.
• After grout cures (approximately 72 hours), apply a final sealer coat for long-lasting protection and easier maintenance.

Maintenance Tips – Keep Its Natural Warmth

• Clean regularly using only pH-neutral, stone-safe products — avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners.
• Immediately wipe spills, especially oils, coffee, or wine, to prevent surface stains.
• Reseal every 6–12 months depending on foot traffic and exposure.
• Place soft felt pads under furniture and use mats in entryways to minimize scratching.

Shipping & Packaging

Each 12″ x 12″ Vanilla Extra Honed Marble Tile with Straight edge is carefully packed in foam-separated, reinforced cartons.
Store indoors in a cool, dry environment and inspect tiles prior to installation to ensure uniform tone and quality.
