Flint Ivory 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Warm and versatile, the Flint Ivory 12×24 porcelain tile offers a soft ivory tone with a natural matte surface that complements a wide range of interiors. The 12×24 format visually reduces grout lines for a cleaner, more contemporary look, while rectified edges help achieve tight, consistent joints.

Built for everyday performance, this porcelain tile balances design flexibility with durability. A PEI 5 wear rating and a DCOF of 0.62 support confident use in busy residential spaces and many commercial interiors. Frost resistance expands design possibilities to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use Flint Ivory on its own for a calm, uniform backdrop or as a foundation for layered textures and finishes. Its neutral palette makes it easy to coordinate across kitchens, baths, entryways, living areas, and commercial wall schemes.

Installation Guide – Flint Ivory 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (e.g., ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for the selected tile size.
  • Dry-lay tiles to plan layout, balance cuts, and align patterns; center the design to avoid narrow perimeter pieces.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade or pattern variation evenly.
  • Select a grout joint width appropriate for rectified tile and the layout; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar suitable for porcelain and the 12×24 format.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve proper bond; target coverage per application and location (commonly 80–95%).
  • Use a leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage on larger-format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or exposing to traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles carefully to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer directions for mixing, application, and cure.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner formulated for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads where appropriate to minimize grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
