Nextone Taupe 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Understated and modern, Nextone Taupe brings a warm neutral tone in a natural (matte) finish that complements a wide range of interiors. The 12×24 format reduces grout lines for a cleaner look, while precise rectified edges help achieve tight, consistent joints on floors and walls.

Crafted in durable porcelain with a 10mm (3/8) thickness, this tile carries a robust PEI 5 wear rating for high-traffic spaces. Frost resistance broadens design options to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates. Box coverage is 15.5 sq ft (8 pieces), simplifying estimates and planning.

Use Nextone Taupe alone for a calm, continuous surface or mix it with contrasting materials for layered detail across kitchens, baths, living areas, and commercial wall designs.

Installation Guide – Nextone Taupe 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Verify substrate suitability, flatness, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances appropriate for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to balance cuts and align grout joints; center the layout to avoid narrow slivers at perimeters.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute shade/pattern variation.
  • Plan joint width appropriate for rectified tile and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and the project conditions (interior/exterior, wall/floor).
  • Key mortar into the substrate, comb with an appropriate notched trowel, and back-butter tiles as needed to improve contact.
  • Set tiles with a slight slide to collapse ridges; achieve the coverage required by application and location (typically 80–95%).
  • Use a leveling system when helpful to reduce lippage on larger-format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer guidance before grouting or opening to light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw and a quality diamond blade suited for porcelain.
  • Support the tile fully and mark cuts accurately to minimize chipping.
  • Ease cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select grout suitable for porcelain and the planned joint width; mix and apply per manufacturer directions.
  • Fully pack joints with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use flexible sealants at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads to limit tracked grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
