French Quarter Toulouse 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Pressed
French Quarter Toulouse brings a refined, versatile look in a modern 12×24 format. The natural matte surface offers a softly understated sheen, while pressed edges create classic, balanced grout lines for clean, cohesive layouts on walls or floors.

Installation Guide – French Quarter Toulouse 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Pressed
Important Advisory
Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.
Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for 12×24 tile.
- Dry-lay to plan layout, balance perimeters, and minimize small cuts; verify cuts at transitions and doorways.
- Blend tile from multiple boxes to distribute shade/pattern variation evenly.
- Use spacers and a joint width appropriate for pressed-edge tile and the pattern; provide movement joints per TCNA EJ171.
Step 2: Tile Installation
- Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
- Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
- Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve the bond; target coverage per location and service conditions (typically 80–95%).
- Use a leveling system when needed to help reduce lippage with 12×24 installations.
- Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer guidance before grouting or light traffic.
Step 3: Cutting
- Cut with a wet saw equipped with a premium diamond blade suitable for porcelain.
- Mark and support tiles carefully to minimize chipping; ease exposed cut edges as needed.
- Follow safety practices, including eye, ear, and dust protection.
Step 4: Joint Filling
- Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer instructions for mixing and application.
- Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
- Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
- Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.
Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
- Use entry mats and protective pads to reduce tracked-in grit and scratching.
- Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
- Do not apply topical sealers or waxes to the porcelain surface unless directed by the manufacturer.
