Important Advisory
Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Confirm substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.
Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for 12×24 large-format tile.
- Dry-lay to confirm layout, centering the design and avoiding narrow perimeter cuts.
- Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade/pattern variation evenly.
- Plan appropriate grout joint widths for pressed-edge tile and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171, especially at perimeters, transitions, and sun‑exposed areas.
Step 2: Tile Installation

- Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
