Crew Silver 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Understated and refined, the Crew Silver 12×24 porcelain tile delivers a versatile silver-gray tone with a natural (matte) surface. The elongated 12×24 format helps minimize grout lines for a clean, modern look, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints across floors and walls.

Crafted in durable porcelain, this tile balances everyday practicality with contemporary style. A PEI 3 wear rating suits typical residential floor use, DCOF 0.42 supports traction in wet interior areas, and frost resistance opens design opportunities for exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use Crew Silver on its own for streamlined simplicity or coordinate with complementary materials to build layered, architectural detail that works across kitchens, baths, living spaces, and entryways.

Installation Guide – Crew Silver 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the product/manufacturer instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA). Verify substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and required waterproofing/drainage before installation.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, sound, and flat within tolerances for large-format tile (12×24). Address cracks, deflection, and moisture per standards.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and align grout joints; avoid small slivers at perimeters and focal areas.
  • Blend tiles from multiple cartons to evenly distribute any shade variation.
  • Select a joint width appropriate for rectified tile and the pattern; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and large-format tiles.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with a suitable notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve bond and coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight sliding motion to collapse ridges; achieve coverage per standards (typically 80–95% depending on area and exposure).
  • Use a leveling system if needed to help minimize lippage with large-format units.
  • Allow mortar to cure as directed before grouting or light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles securely to reduce chipping; ease sharp cut edges where exposed.
  • Drill holes with appropriate porcelain-rated bits at low feed pressure with cooling as required.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Choose a grout suitable for porcelain and the selected joint width; mix and apply per manufacturer instructions.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner appropriate for porcelain; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads to minimize grit and scratching; address spills promptly.
  • Follow grout manufacturer care guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
