Installation Guide – Silver Mist 6″x24″ 3D Ledgestone Panel (Marble)
Step 1: Surface Preparation
- Ensure the surface is vertical, clean, dry, and free of debris or paint.
- Acceptable substrates: cement board, concrete, or masonry block.
- Apply a waterproofing membrane in wet or exterior areas.
- Check for flatness—surface must be level and stable.
Step 2: Layout & Dry-Fitting
- Dry-lay panels to determine best visual arrangement of 3D texture and color variation.
- Mark level reference lines using a laser or chalk for even rows.
- Begin from the center of the bottom row and work upward.
- Stagger vertical seams for a natural, interlocked appearance.
Step 3: Adhesive Application
Recommended Adhesives:
- Laticrete 254 Platinum
- Mapei Ultraflex LFT
- White or light-colored thin-set mortar compatible with natural stone
Instructions:
- Apply mortar using a 1/2″ square-notched trowel on both the wall and back of the panel (back-buttering).
- Firmly press panels into place with a slight sliding motion to ensure full contact.
- Work in small sections to prevent the adhesive from drying too quickly.
Step 4: Cutting & Fitting
- Use a wet saw with a high-quality diamond blade designed for natural stone.
- Always dry-fit corner and edge pieces before applying adhesive.
- Handle panels carefully to avoid chipping the 3D relief edges.
Step 5: Finishing
- This product is designed for dry-stack installation – no grout is required.
- Immediately clean off any mortar from the stone surface using a damp sponge.
- Allow panels to set undisturbed for 24–48 hours before sealing or exposure to moisture.
Step 6: Sealing
- Apply a penetrating natural stone sealer after installation is fully cured.
- Avoid topical sealers that form a film or affect the natural appearance.
- Reseal every 1–2 years depending on indoor or outdoor conditions.
Maintenance Tips
- Clean only with pH-neutral stone cleaners.
