Nextone Dark Mark 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Sophisticated and versatile, the Nextone Dark Mark 12×24 porcelain tile pairs a rich dark tone with the Mark design variant and a natural finish. The 12×24 format streamlines grout lines for a clean, modern layout, while rectified edges support tight, consistent joints across floors and walls.

Engineered from durable porcelain at 10mm (3/8) thickness, this tile delivers robust wear performance with a PEI 5 rating. Frost resistance broadens design options to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates. Box coverage is 15.5 sq. ft. (8 pieces), simplifying planning and estimating.

Use it to create cohesive surfaces in kitchens, baths, and living areas or to add depth to feature walls and backsplashes. The natural finish offers a soft, understated look that complements both modern and transitional palettes.

Installation Guide – Nextone Dark Mark 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Verify substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances suitable for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and center patterns; avoid sliver cuts at perimeters.
  • Blend material from multiple boxes to evenly distribute shade and pattern variation.
  • Use spacers appropriate for rectified edges and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and larger-format tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, comb with an appropriate notched trowel, and back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges; achieve coverage levels appropriate to the installation area (commonly 80–95%).
  • Use a leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage on larger-format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles carefully to reduce chipping; ease sharp cut edges where exposed.
  • Drill penetrations with diamond core bits at low speed with proper cooling.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow the manufacturer’s directions for mixing, application, and cure times.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads where appropriate to minimize tracked-in grit and potential abrasion.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
