Happy Floors Sublime 2.0 Dorado 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Sublime 2.0 Dorado delivers a sophisticated natural (matte) look in a versatile 12×24 format. Precise rectified edges enable tight, consistent grout joints for clean-lined installations across floors and walls, whether you favor a modern stacked layout or a classic staggered pattern.

Crafted in durable porcelain, this tile balances style with everyday practicality. A PEI 4 wear rating supports active residential spaces and select light commercial floors, while a DCOF greater than 0.42 provides dependable traction in typical wet-interior settings. Frost resistance expands design possibilities to exterior wall applications in freeze–thaw climates.

Planning is straightforward with 15.5 sq. ft. per box (8 pieces). Use Sublime 2.0 Dorado on its own for a refined, minimalist look or pair it with complementary materials to build layered, architectural detail.

Installation Guide – Happy Floors Sublime 2.0 Dorado 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the product manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Confirm substrate suitability, flatness, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for large-format tile such as 12×24.
  • Dry-lay to confirm layout, balance cuts, and center the design; avoid small slivers at perimeters and focal areas.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade or pattern variation evenly.
  • Use spacers appropriate for rectified tile and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin‑set mortar approved for porcelain and the project conditions.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back‑butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back‑and‑forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve required mortar contact (typically 80–95%, per location and service).
  • Employ a tile leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage with larger formats.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer guidance before grouting or opening to light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles carefully to reduce chipping; ease sharp cut edges where exposed.
  • Drill openings with diamond core bits at low speed and with adequate cooling.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer mixing and cure instructions.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove any haze promptly.
  • Use appropriate sealant at changes of plane and movement joints; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid harsh acids, alkalis, or abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and protective pads to minimize grit and scratching in high‑traffic areas.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance recommendations; seal cementitious grout if specified.
