Installation Guide – Nextone White Dot 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the product manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Confirm substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Verify the substrate is clean, dry, sound, and flat within tolerances appropriate for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and align patterns; avoid narrow perimeter slivers.
  • Blend material from multiple boxes to evenly distribute any shade variation.
  • Select joint width consistent with rectified tile and project needs; provide movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and, when needed, for large-format tiles.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, comb in one direction, and back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight sliding motion to collapse ridges; achieve coverage per standards for the location (typically 80–95%).
  • Use a leveling system where appropriate to help minimize lippage on 12×24 installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or opening to light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Support the tile fully and mark cuts accurately to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Choose a grout suitable for porcelain and the selected joint width; mix and apply per manufacturer directions.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer instructions.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid harsh acids or abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and protective pads to limit tracked grit and abrasion.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
