Newton Silver 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Refined and versatile, the Newton Silver 12×24 porcelain tile delivers a cool, modern look in a soft natural (matte) finish. The 12×24 format reduces visual seams, while precise rectified edges support clean, consistent grout joints for streamlined walls and floors.

Crafted in durable porcelain at 3/8 inch (9.5mm) thickness, Newton Silver balances everyday practicality with design flexibility. A PEI 4 wear rating supports robust residential use and selective light commercial floors, and frost resistance expands design options to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use it as a calm, contemporary field tile or mix with coordinating materials to build layered detail. The understated silver tone pairs easily with warm woods, dark metals, and minimalist palettes.

Installation Guide – Newton Silver 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, sound, and flat within tolerances suitable for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and align grout joints; avoid small slivers at perimeters.
  • Blend material from multiple boxes to distribute shade and pattern variation.
  • Use spacers appropriate for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and promote bond; achieve coverage per industry requirements for the application.
  • Use a leveling system if needed to help minimize lippage on 12×24 installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Use a wet saw with a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Measure and mark carefully; support the tile fully during cuts to minimize chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer directions for mixing, application, and cure.
  • Fully pack joints with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads to reduce tracked-in grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout and setting material manufacturers’ maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
