Important Advisory
Inspect all tile before installation and confirm that the product is suitable for the intended environment. Follow Happy Floors instructions, setting-material manufacturer requirements, applicable local codes, and recognized tile-industry standards. Wet areas require a properly designed substrate and waterproofing system; exterior applications require appropriate drainage, movement accommodation, and application approval.
Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Confirm the installation area, pattern, reference lines, and required cuts before setting tile.
- Dry-lay representative tiles from multiple cartons to review color, finish, sizing, and overall placement.
- The 4×12 format may be arranged horizontally, vertically, stacked, or in an offset pattern. Select offsets and grout-joint widths according to manufacturer guidance and applicable industry standards.
- Plan movement joints and changes of plane before installation. Do not bridge existing structural or movement joints with tile.
Step 2: Tile Installation
- Install only over a clean, flat, dry, stable, and properly prepared substrate suitable for porcelain tile.
- Repair cracks, uneven areas, contamination, or other substrate conditions that could interfere with adhesion before installation.
