Capraia Sand 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified
Warm and understated, Capraia Sand brings a refined neutral look to modern spaces. The natural matte surface softens light for a calm, contemporary feel, while the 12×24 format supports clean lines and fewer grout joints. Precise rectified edges allow tight, consistent spacing and crisp transitions from wall to floor.
Made from durable porcelain with a 3/8 in. (9mm) thickness, this tile balances design versatility with everyday practicality. A PEI 4 wear rating and a DCOF of 0.5 support confident use in residential floors and select light commercial settings, and frost resistance opens design options for exterior facades. Box coverage is 11.62 sq. ft. (6 pieces), simplifying project planning.
Use Capraia on its own for a seamless neutral canvas or pair it with coordinating trims to frame niches, showers, and feature walls. The natural finish pairs easily with wood tones, concrete looks, and metals across contemporary and transitional interiors.

Installation Guide – Capraia Sand 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified
Important Advisory
Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA). Verify substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.
Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, stable, and flat within industry tolerances for the tile size.
- Plan the layout by dry-fitting tiles, centering the design, and avoiding narrow perimeter cuts.
- Blend material from multiple boxes to evenly distribute any shade/pattern variation.
- Use spacers consistent with rectified tile and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.
Step 2: Tile Installation
- Use a polymer‑modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
- Key mortar into the substrate and comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter as needed to improve contact.
- Set tiles with a slight perpendicular motion to collapse ridges and achieve required coverage per standards and application location.
- Check plane frequently and consider a leveling system to help minimize lippage with 12×24 tiles.
- Observe mortar cure times before grouting or allowing light traffic.
Step 3: Cutting
- Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
- Support tiles fully during cuts and mark cut lines carefully to reduce chipping.
- Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.
Step 4: Joint Filling
- Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; mix and apply per manufacturer guidance.
- Fully pack joints with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly.
- Use appropriate sealant at changes of plane and movement joints; do not grout these areas.
- Protect the installation from traffic until grout cures per manufacturer instructions.
Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
- Use entry mats and protective pads under furniture to reduce abrasion from grit.
- Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
