Installation Guide – Cipriani Almond/Noce Beige Mix Muro 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Pressed

Important Advisory

Always follow the Happy Floors installation recommendations, applicable local building codes, and recognized tile-industry standards, including ANSI and TCNA guidance where applicable. Confirm that the substrate, setting materials, waterproofing, drainage, movement accommodation, and selected application are appropriate before installation.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Inspect all cartons before installation and confirm the product, color, size, finish, and lot information. Do not install material with visible defects.
  • Verify that the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and suitably flat for the selected tile format and installation area.
  • Dry-lay or plan the layout before setting tile. Balance cuts at walls, corners, transitions, and other perimeter conditions.
  • Blend tile from multiple boxes as needed to distribute the Almond/Noce color variation throughout the installation.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a suitable mortar approved for porcelain tile and compatible with the specific substrate and application.
  • Apply mortar according to the setting-material manufacturer’s instructions, achieving appropriate contact and coverage for the installation conditions. Back-buttering may be appropriate for larger tile formats or other areas requiring improved coverage.
  • Set tiles with consistent joints and check alignment, plane, and lippage as work progresses. Do not force tile into place or allow mortar to skin over.
  • Provide movement accommodation at perimeters, changes of plane, transitions, and other locations required by the project conditions and recognized industry standards.
  • Allow the mortar to cure according to the mortar manufacturer’s instructions before grouting or exposing the installation to use.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut porcelain tile with a suitable wet saw and diamond blade designed for porcelain.
  • Measure and mark cuts carefully, supporting the tile during cutting to help reduce chipping.
  • Smooth or ease exposed cut edges where needed at transitions, corners, or other visible locations.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout compatible with porcelain tile, the joint width, and the intended application. Follow the grout manufacturer’s mixing, placement, cleaning, and curing instructions.
  • Fill joints fully and clean grout residue from the tile surface using the grout manufacturer’s recommended procedure.
  • Use an appropriate flexible sealant rather than grout at movement joints, inside corners, changes of plane, and other locations requiring sealant.
  • Protect the completed installation from traffic and impact until the mortar and grout have cured as directed.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Remove installation residue promptly using products recommended for porcelain tile and the selected grout.
  • For routine care, use a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain tile and avoid harsh acids, abrasive powders, and aggressive cleaning tools.
  • Use mats or protective measures where appropriate to reduce tracked-in grit, and follow the grout manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations.

Disclaimer

Installation should be performed by qualified tile professionals. Actual suitability depends on the site, substrate, exposure, drainage, waterproofing, and installation system. Confirm current product information, lot-to-lot variation, and manufacturer requirements before installation.
