Azuma DG 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Clean and contemporary, the Azuma DG 12×24 porcelain tile features a versatile DG colorway with a natural matte surface. The 12×24 format minimizes grout lines for a streamlined look on walls or floors, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints and refined layouts.

Engineered in durable porcelain at 10mm (3/8 in) thickness, this tile balances design flexibility with daily practicality. A PEI 5 wear rating stands up to high-traffic residential areas and light commercial floors, and frost resistance extends design possibilities to exterior wall applications in freeze–thaw climates.

Use it on its own for crisp minimalism or pair it with coordinating materials to build layered architectural detail. The natural finish offers a soft, low‑sheen look that complements a wide range of palettes.

Installation Guide – Azuma DG 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Verify substrate suitability, required movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where applicable.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances appropriate for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and align grout joints with the space; avoid narrow slivers at perimeters.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade or pattern variation.
  • Select a joint width appropriate for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171 and project conditions.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin‑set mortar approved for porcelain and for the substrate conditions.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, comb with an appropriate notched trowel, and back‑butter tiles as needed to meet ANSI/TCNA coverage requirements for the application (interior, wet, or exterior).
  • Set tiles with a slight back‑and‑forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve proper bond; use a leveling system where helpful to minimize lippage on larger formats.
  • Protect the installation and allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw and a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark cuts carefully and support tile fully to minimize chipping; ease exposed cut edges as needed.
  • Drill with diamond core bits at low speed with water to prevent cracking when penetrations are required.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Choose a grout suitable for porcelain and the selected joint width; follow manufacturer directions for mixing, application, and curing.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Restrict traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer recommendations.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids, bleach, or harsh abrasives.
  • Use walk‑off mats and felt pads where appropriate to minimize tracked-in grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
