Macaubas Pearl 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified
Understated and versatile, the Macaubas Pearl 12×24 porcelain tile presents a refined neutral look with a natural finish and crisp rectified edges. The 12×24 format helps minimize grout lines for a smooth, contemporary layout on walls or floors.
Crafted in durable porcelain with a PEI 4 wear rating, this tile balances everyday practicality with clean design. Frost resistance broadens possibilities to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates, while rectified edges support tight, consistent joints for a polished result.

Installation Guide – Macaubas Pearl 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified
Important Advisory
Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Confirm substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.
Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for the selected tile size.
- Dry-lay tiles to confirm layout, balance cuts, and align patterning/shade; blend from multiple boxes for uniform distribution.
- Plan appropriate grout joint width for rectified tile and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.
- Confirm environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) meet setting material requirements.
Step 2: Tile Installation
- Use a polymer‑modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
- Key mortar into the substrate, comb with an appropriate notched trowel, and back‑butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
- Set tiles with a slight back‑and‑forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve the coverage required by application and location.
- Use a leveling system where helpful to minimize lippage, particularly with larger tile formats.
- Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or subjecting to traffic.
Step 3: Cutting
- Cut with a wet saw using a high‑quality diamond blade rated for porcelain.
- Measure and mark carefully; support the tile fully during cuts to reduce chipping.
- Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.
Step 4: Joint Filling
- Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer mixing and application guidelines.
- Pack joints completely with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
- Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
- Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured as directed.
Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner formulated for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
- Use entry mats and protective pads to reduce tracked‑in grit and scratching.
- Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
