Eva Sand 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Warm and welcoming, the Eva Sand 12×24 porcelain tile brings a refined sand-beige tone with a natural matte surface that suits modern and classic spaces alike. The elongated 12×24 format reduces grout lines for a cleaner look, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints.

Crafted in durable porcelain, this tile is engineered for busy interiors. A PEI 5 wear rating stands up to heavy foot traffic, and a DCOF greater than 0.59 helps provide stable footing in wet areas when properly installed. Frost resistance further expands design options to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use Eva Sand on its own for a calm, continuous field of color, or coordinate with complementary materials for layered texture. With 11.63 square feet per box (6 pieces), planning layouts and ordering the right quantity is straightforward.

Installation Guide – Eva Sand 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Verify substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required for the project.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, sound, and flat within tolerances for large-format tile such as 12×24.
  • Dry-lay to confirm layout, balance cuts, and align grout joints; avoid narrow perimeter slivers.
  • Blend tiles from multiple cartons to evenly distribute any shade or pattern variation.
  • Plan joint width appropriate for rectified tile and the pattern; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and the project conditions.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb in one direction with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight perpendicular motion to collapse ridges and ensure bond; target coverage per standards (typically 80% interior, up to 95% in wet/exterior areas).
  • Use a leveling system if needed to help minimize lippage on large-format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer guidance before grouting or opening to traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut using a wet saw with a high-quality diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark cuts carefully and support the tile fully to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout compatible with porcelain and the chosen joint width (cementitious, epoxy, or other as specified).
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer instructions.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and furniture glides to minimize grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
