Waves Foam 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Understated and modern, the Waves Foam 12×24 porcelain tile delivers a clean, versatile look with a natural (matte) surface. The 12×24 format minimizes grout lines for a smooth, contemporary layout, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints across floors and walls.

Crafted in durable porcelain, this tile balances everyday practicality with design flexibility for kitchens, baths, and living areas. A PEI 4 wear rating and a DCOF of 0.42 support reliable traction and robust residential performance, and frost resistance expands design possibilities to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use it on its own for a refined, minimal statement or mix it with complementary materials to create layered architectural detail throughout your space.

Installation Guide – Waves Foam 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances suitable for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and center the design to avoid narrow edge pieces.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade variation evenly.
  • Select joint width appropriate for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin‑set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back‑butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back‑and‑forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve required bond; target coverage consistent with area of use (typically 80–95%).
  • Use a leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage on larger-format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw equipped with a premium diamond blade suitable for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles carefully to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they may be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Choose a grout compatible with porcelain and the selected joint width; follow manufacturer directions for mixing and cure.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain tile; avoid acids or harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads where appropriate to reduce tracked‑in grit and potential scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
