Newton White 12×24 Porcelain Tile Semi Polished Rectified

Clean and contemporary, the Newton White 12×24 porcelain tile brings a refined white aesthetic with a subtle semi-polished sheen. The elongated 12×24 format helps minimize grout lines for a smooth, modern look, while rectified edges support tight, consistent joints.

Engineered in durable porcelain at 3/8 inch (9.5mm) thickness, this tile balances design flexibility with everyday practicality. Its frost-resistant body expands design options to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates. Use it on its own for crisp minimalism or pair it with complementary materials to build layered, architectural detail.

With a PEI 4 wear rating and easy-care surface, Newton White is a versatile choice for residential floors and walls, as well as commercial wall applications where a clean, bright backdrop is desired.

Installation Guide – Newton White 12×24 Porcelain Tile Semi Polished Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances appropriate for larger-format tiles such as 12×24.
  • Plan the layout by dry-fitting tiles and centering the design to avoid small perimeter cuts.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute shade and pattern variation evenly.
  • Use spacers and a joint width appropriate for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar rated for porcelain and larger-format tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb in one direction with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve required coverage (typically 80–95% depending on location and exposure).
  • Use a tile leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage on 12×24 installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or permitting light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw and a premium diamond blade designed for porcelain.
  • Mark cuts carefully and support the tile fully to help reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow the grout manufacturer’s mixing and cure guidance.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer recommendations.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain; avoid acids or harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads where appropriate to minimize tracked-in grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
