Macaubas Twilight 12×24 Porcelain Tile Anticato Rectified

Macaubas Twilight brings the depth and movement of a richly toned stone-inspired surface to a versatile 12×24 porcelain tile. Its Anticato finish adds a softly aged visual character, while the Twilight color creates a dramatic foundation for contemporary, transitional, and warm architectural interiors.

Made from durable porcelain, this 3/8-inch tile combines a refined appearance with practical everyday performance. Rectified edges support a clean, precise installation, and the frost-free construction allows for additional design possibilities where exterior tile applications are appropriate. Each box covers 11.63 square feet and contains 6 pieces.

Installation Guide – Macaubas Twilight 12×24 Porcelain Tile Anticato Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow Happy Floors installation instructions, applicable local building codes, and recognized industry standards such as ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines. Confirm that the selected substrate, setting materials, waterproofing, drainage, and movement-joint design are appropriate for the specific installation.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Verify that the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and suitably flat for the selected tile format.
  • Plan the layout before setting tile, balancing the design to reduce narrow perimeter cuts and maintain visual continuity.
  • Inspect material from multiple boxes and blend pieces as needed to distribute natural shade and pattern variation.
  • Establish joint widths appropriate for rectified porcelain tile and the selected layout. Provide movement accommodation at required locations and changes of plane.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a mortar approved by the manufacturer for porcelain tile and the installation conditions.
  • Apply mortar to the prepared substrate using a suitable method for the tile format, and ensure adequate contact between the tile and setting material.
  • Set each tile with a slight back-and-forth motion to promote contact and alignment. Periodically lift tiles to verify coverage and adjust the installation method if needed.
  • Maintain consistent alignment across the installation and use a suitable leveling aid where appropriate to help manage lippage.
  • Allow the setting material to cure according to its manufacturer’s instructions before grouting or exposing the installation to traffic or moisture.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Use a wet saw or other professional cutting equipment with a diamond blade suitable for porcelain tile.
  • Measure and mark cuts carefully, and support the tile fully during cutting to help reduce chipping.
  • Smooth or ease exposed cut edges where needed, particularly at transitions or other visible terminations.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout compatible with porcelain tile, the planned joint width, and the service conditions of the installation.
  • Follow the grout manufacturer’s instructions for mixing, application, cleaning, and curing.
  • Fill joints thoroughly, clean the surface without allowing grout residue to remain, and remove haze using products recommended for porcelain tile.
  • Use flexible sealant rather than grout at movement joints, inside corners, changes of plane, and other locations required by the installation design.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Remove installation residue using cleaners recommended for porcelain tile and the setting or grout materials used.
  • Clean routinely with a suitable pH-neutral tile cleaner and avoid harsh abrasives or products that may damage the grout or finish.
  • Address spills and tracked-in grit promptly, and follow the grout manufacturer’s maintenance and sealing recommendations where applicable.
