Kobe Statuarietto 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Refined and versatile, the Kobe Statuarietto 12×24 porcelain tile delivers a crisp, marble-inspired look in a practical natural (matte) finish. The elongated 12×24 format minimizes grout lines for a clean, modern surface, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints across walls and floors.

Crafted in durable porcelain with a PEI 4 wear rating and a DCOF of 0.50, this tile balances elevated style with everyday performance in kitchens, baths, living areas, and select commercial interiors. Frost resistance expands design possibilities to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use it on its own for a seamless, contemporary statement or pair it with complementary materials to create layered architectural detail. The natural finish offers a soft, low-sheen surface that coordinates effortlessly with both warm and cool palettes.

Installation Guide – Kobe Statuarietto 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Verify substrate suitability, waterproofing/drainage where required, and provide movement accommodation joints per EJ171.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances for large-format tile.
  • Plan the layout by dry-fitting tiles, centering the design, and avoiding small perimeter pieces where possible.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute tone/pattern uniformly.
  • Use appropriate spacers and maintain a consistent joint; include movement joints at the intervals required by standards and site conditions.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a quality polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and, where needed, for large-format tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, comb with an appropriate notched trowel, and back-butter tiles to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight sliding motion to collapse ridges; achieve coverage levels required by application (typically 80–95%).
  • Use a leveling system as needed to help minimize lippage on large-format installations.
  • Allow the setting material to cure per manufacturer guidance before grouting or light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut using a wet saw with a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Support tiles fully during cuts and mark carefully to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow all mixing and cure instructions.
  • Pack joints completely with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use flexible sealant at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured as directed.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain; avoid acids or harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and protective pads on furnishings to limit grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer recommendations for maintenance and sealing if applicable.
