Refined and contemporary, Navona Honey Vein Cut 12×24 porcelain tile showcases a warm, linear vein-cut look with a natural finish that reads clean and composed. Installation Guide – Navona Honey Vein Cut 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances appropriate for the tile size.
  • Plan the layout by dry-laying tiles to balance cuts and minimize small slivers at perimeters.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade or pattern variation evenly.
  • Use appropriate spacers and select a joint width suitable for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve proper bond; target coverage consistent with application and location requirements.
  • Use a tile leveling system if needed to help minimize lippage on larger formats.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or subjecting to light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark cuts carefully and support the tile fully to reduce chipping.
  • Ease or dress sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Choose a grout suitable for porcelain and the selected joint width; follow manufacturer mixing and cure guidance.
  • Pack joints fully, clean diagonally with clean water, and remove haze promptly.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer instructions.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner suitable for porcelain tile; avoid harsh acids or abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and protective pads under furnishings to reduce abrasion from tracked-in grit.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
