Azuma 2.0 NO 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Streamlined and contemporary, the Azuma 2.0 NO 12×24 porcelain tile delivers a clean, versatile look with a natural (matte) surface. The 12×24 format reduces grout lines for a smooth visual flow across walls or floors, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints.

Built in durable porcelain, this tile balances design flexibility with everyday practicality. A PEI 4 wear rating and wet DCOF > 0.42 support residential floors and a range of interior wall uses, and frost resistance opens design options for exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates. Pair it with complementary materials to create cohesive, architectural detail from room to room.

Use Azuma 2.0 on its own for minimalist impact or as a foundation to layer texture and tone throughout kitchens, baths, and living areas. The natural finish brings a soft, low-sheen presence that integrates easily with both warm and cool palettes.

Installation Guide – Azuma 2.0 NO 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Confirm substrate suitability, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerance for 12×24 tile.
  • Dry-lay to confirm layout, center the pattern, and avoid small perimeter cuts.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to evenly distribute any shade or pattern variation.
  • Plan grout joint width appropriate for rectified tile; include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thinset mortar approved for porcelain and, when needed, for large-format tiles.
  • Key mortar into the substrate and comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight perpendicular motion to collapse ridges and achieve the bond required by location (typically 80–95% coverage).
  • Use a leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage with 12×24 formats.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw and a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles carefully to reduce chipping; ease exposed cut edges as needed.
  • Drill holes with diamond core bits at low speed with adequate cooling.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the planned joint width.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float; clean diagonally and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealant at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer guidance.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and protective pads to minimize tracked-in grit and potential scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
