Crew Almond 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Warm and refined, the Crew Almond 12×24 porcelain tile delivers a soft almond-beige tone with a versatile natural (matte) surface. The elongated 12×24 format reduces grout lines for a clean, contemporary look, while precise rectified edges support tight, consistent joints across walls or floors.

Crafted in durable porcelain, this tile balances design flexibility with easy maintenance—ideal for kitchens, baths, living areas, and commercial wall applications. Its frost-resistant body expands design options to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Installation Guide – Crew Almond 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within tolerances for large-format tile.
  • Plan the layout by dry-laying tiles and centering the design to avoid narrow perimeter cuts.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to distribute any shade variation evenly.
  • Select a joint width appropriate for rectified tile and include movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin‑set mortar approved for porcelain and large‑format tiles.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back‑butter tiles to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back‑and‑forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve required bond; target 80–95% coverage depending on area and exposure.
  • Use a leveling system as needed to help minimize lippage on large‑format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure per manufacturer instructions before grouting or subjecting the installation to traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw and a premium diamond blade suitable for porcelain.
  • Mark cuts carefully, support the tile fully, and feed steadily to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Choose a grout suitable for porcelain and the selected joint width; follow manufacturer mixing and cure times.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use flexible sealants at movement joints and all changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured per manufacturer guidance.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner formulated for porcelain tile; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads to minimize tracked‑in grit and potential scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance recommendations; seal cementitious grout if advised.
