Statik Rust 12×24 Porcelain Tile Polished Rectified

Refined and modern, the Statik Rust 12×24 porcelain tile pairs a warm rust tone with a mirror-like polished finish. The elongated 12×24 format streamlines the look by reducing grout lines, while rectified edges support tight, consistent joints for crisp alignment on walls and floors.

Crafted in durable porcelain, this tile is an elegant choice for feature walls, backsplashes, shower surrounds, and residential dry-area floors. With a DCOF below 0.42, it is not recommended for wet interior floor areas. Frost resistance expands design potential to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates.

Use Statik Rust on its own for a sophisticated, glossy statement or coordinate with complementary materials to build layered, architectural detail across your space.

Installation Guide – Statik Rust 12×24 Porcelain Tile Polished Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Verify the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for 12×24 tile.
  • Plan the layout by dry-laying tiles, centering the design, and avoiding sliver cuts at perimeters.
  • Blend material from multiple boxes to distribute shade and pattern variation evenly.
  • Use spacers appropriate for rectified tile and incorporate movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer-modified thin-set mortar approved for porcelain and the tile’s format.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, comb with an appropriate notched trowel, and back-butter tiles as needed to improve coverage.
  • Set tiles with a slight back-and-forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve required bond; target 80–95% coverage depending on area and exposure.
  • Employ a leveling system when necessary to help minimize lippage on larger-format installations.
  • Allow mortar to cure as directed by the manufacturer before grouting or allowing traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade suitable for porcelain.
  • Mark cuts carefully and support the tile fully to reduce chipping.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow manufacturer instructions for mixing, application, and cure.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH-neutral cleaner approved for porcelain tile; avoid acids or harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads to minimize tracked-in grit and scratching on floors.
  • Follow grout manufacturer guidance for maintenance; seal cementitious grout if recommended.
