Capraia Pearl 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Refined and versatile, the Capraia Pearl 12×24 porcelain tile offers a soft, neutral pearl tone paired with a natural matte surface. The 12×24 format helps minimize visual joints for a smooth, modern look on walls or floors, while rectified edges support precise, consistent grout lines.

Engineered in durable porcelain with a PEI 4 wear rating and a wet DCOF of 0.50, this tile blends style with everyday practicality in kitchens, baths, and living areas. Frost resistance expands design possibilities to exterior facades in freeze–thaw climates. Designed for ease of care, the natural finish provides a soft, low-sheen look that complements both warm and cool palettes—equally at home in contemporary and classic interiors.

Installation Guide – Capraia Pearl 12×24 Porcelain Tile Natural Rectified

Important Advisory

Always follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions, local building codes, and recognized industry standards (ANSI A108/A118 and TCNA guidelines). Ensure proper substrate preparation, movement accommodation, and waterproofing/drainage where required.

Step 1: Layout & Planning

  • Confirm the substrate is clean, dry, structurally sound, and flat within industry tolerances for tiles in this size.
  • Dry-lay to plan layout, balance cuts, and align patterns; avoid sliver cuts at perimeters.
  • Blend tiles from multiple boxes to evenly distribute any shade or pattern variation.
  • Use appropriate spacers and a joint width suitable for rectified tile; provide movement joints per TCNA EJ171.

Step 2: Tile Installation

  • Use a polymer‑modified thin‑set mortar approved for porcelain tile.
  • Key mortar into the substrate, then comb with an appropriate notched trowel; back‑butter tiles as needed to improve contact.
  • Set tiles with a slight back‑and‑forth motion to collapse ridges and achieve required coverage (typically 80–95% based on area and exposure).
  • Use a tile leveling system when needed to help minimize lippage with tiles of this size.
  • Observe manufacturer cure times before grouting or allowing light traffic.

Step 3: Cutting

  • Cut with a wet saw using a premium diamond blade rated for porcelain.
  • Mark and support tiles carefully to reduce chipping and ensure accuracy.
  • Ease sharp cut edges where they will be exposed.

Step 4: Joint Filling

  • Select a grout suitable for porcelain and the chosen joint width; follow the manufacturer’s mixing and cure instructions.
  • Pack joints fully with a rubber float, clean diagonally, and remove haze promptly with clean water.
  • Use appropriate sealants at movement joints and changes of plane; do not grout these areas.
  • Protect the installation from traffic until grout has cured.

Step 5: Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean routinely with a pH‑neutral cleaner approved for porcelain; avoid acids and harsh abrasives.
  • Use entry mats and felt pads to minimize grit and scratching.
  • Follow grout manufacturer maintenance guidance; reseal cementitious grout if recommended.
