Step 1: Layout & Planning
- Confirm walls are clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound. Repair imperfections and ensure proper waterproofing in wet areas (e.g., shower walls) as required.
- Establish level and plumb reference lines to maintain alignment across the installation.
- Dry-lay tiles to review tone and finish. Blend from multiple cartons to balance natural variation.
- Plan the pattern (offset, stacked, vertical, or decorative layouts) and position cuts in low-visibility areas where possible.
Step 2: Tile Installation
- Use a high-quality thin-set mortar appropriate for ceramic wall tile and the specific substrate. For light-colored tiles like Pearl, white mortar is typically preferred where suitable.
- Apply mortar per manufacturer instructions and within open time; select trowel size according to substrate conditions and mortar guidance.
- Press tiles firmly to achieve proper contact and periodically check coverage. Keep joints consistent with spacers as needed.
